Summer at the Old Bridge

We have expanded our summer hours! You can visit on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

We want everyone to enjoy Summer at the Old Bridge and there are lots of ways

you can do just that!

We offer our Young Explorers Program starting at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Children ages 5-12 will have an educational activity, make a craft project to take home and enjoy a snack. A parent must remain on the property and can relax under one of our beautiful live oak trees.

No reservation needed.  Available June 14--August 16.

If you like history and stories about our past,  join us for our popular History Walks. We'll meet you at the Old Bridge and tell you stories from centuries past as well as some more recent history. Explorers, pirates and presidents have all touched our part of the world! The walk lasts 60-90 minutes depending on the stories and the story teller. It is on flat terrain, not strenuous.  Wear comfortable shoes and plan to enjoy history that isn't boring.

Call 910.363.6585 to make a reservation. We need at least 48 hours to find a time that is mutually convenient.  In the summer, we try to do the walks in the morning when it's a little cooler and we limit them to ten persons. We'll provide chilled water bottles and a fun walk. Donation $5.00 per person. (Children under 12 are free.)

In the Museum, you can explore the history of Sunset Beach. Did you know it used to be called Bald Beach? Or that the first police chief was a part time employee? Or that a blockade runner ran aground here during the Civil War? Enjoy our exhibits and stories. We are a little museum with a lot of stories! Visit our store for mementos to take home with you. Open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
