     Visit the Bird Walk on Shoreline Drive West to see a variety of birds. Use the Binocular to get a better look. Do not feed the alligators even if they beg.

     Walk to Kindred Spirit. From the 40th St. walkway, go to your right (as you face the ocean) and walk for about 1 1/4 miles. Enjoy the beauty and peace of this special place. You can open the mailbox and read the notebooks there. Jot down your own thoughts. Be sure to take along some water and sunscreen.

     Explore the Bird Island Nature Trail. Follow the directions for Kindred Spirit. The trail head sign is just before you get to Kindred Spirit. Other than climbing down the dune to start the trail, it is flat and easy to follow. The entire loop is about one mile. Trail markers with QR codes will help you learn more about the flora and fauna of this beautiful island. Wear closed toe shoes, carry water and use sunscreen. Be sure to take your smartphone for the QR codes--and to take some pictures!

     Visit the Veterans Memorial in the Town Park. See the tributes to each service branch and the many bricks honoring those who have served. While you're there, sit on a bench or in one of the swings, look out at the Intracoastal and enjoy the breeze.

     And of course, come to visit the Old Bridge Museum & Interpretive Center, open Monday, Wedneday, Thursday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. -- 1:00 p.m.!!

     Fourth of July at the Old Bridge--July 4 at 9:00 a.m. Decorate yourself, bikes, trikes, strollers, wagons or whatever you like and come for a parade on the Old Bridge followed by refreshments and games. Good for all ages!
